Crafty Launches First Office Pantry Benchmarking Tool

CHICAGO, IL — July 29 — Crafty, the leading national provider of office pantry services, today launched the Pantry Intelligence Index, creating the food service industry's first interactive benchmark tool for workplace pantry investment. Built on a proprietary dataset spanning 750+ offices, the Index gives employers a view of how pantry investments stack up across industries, markets, and company types.

"Leaders are expected to justify every dollar with data, yet pantry programs have remained one of the last investments without meaningful benchmarks, said Nate Rosenstock, CEO and Co-Founder of Crafty. “ We’ve spent years building the only proprietary dataset in workplace food service. Now, we're opening that intelligence to the market so that organizations can make smarter decisions about one of their most visible employee benefits."

Key findings from the 2026 Pantry Intelligence Index

  • The average single office location invested $15,325 per month in pantry programs in the first half of 2026, with spending peaking in the spring and fall as office attendance rises.
  • More than 80% of organizations are focused on optimizing or reducing pantry spend, signaling a shift toward ROI discipline without sacrificing employee experience.
  • Pantry investment increasingly mirrors local talent competition. Markets fighting for specialized talent consistently lead the nation in per-office spend,  reinforcing pantries’ role in attraction and retention.
  • GLP-1 adoption and broader health trends are visibly reshaping employee food preferences. Organizations are balancing classic pantry staples with nutrient-dense, functional options to meet evolving needs.

The Pantry Intelligence Index is one of three intelligence layers Crafty-powered workplaces use to make decisions: quantitative consumption data (what employees take), qualitative feedback (what they want), and now benchmarking data (how they compare). Together, this intelligence gives organizations a complete picture to optimize performance and build pantry programs that adapt alongside their workforce.

"Every data source provides a different lens," Rosenstock added. "The organizations winning on efficiency and culture aren't choosing between cutting costs and investing in their people; they're using better data to do both."
